Tiong Nam now controls more than 60 warehouses in the area, with a total storage capacity of more than 3.5 million square feet, up from only one bonded warehouse in 1993. Cold Rooms, General Warehouse, Bonded Warehouse, and Free Trade Zone or Commercial Zone Warehouse are all included in this.

Besides providing a convenient tax-free storage for goods needing to be exported or re-exported, Tiong Nam warehouse operations are run by the cutting-edge, high-volume Warehouse Management (WMS), designed to ensure accurate, fast and smart inventory management.

How Tiong Nam manage the goods ?

Tiong Nam is a private warehouse where other companies can rent space to store their items. Also, a member of the tiong nam team will help in managing the inventory for the company when another company rents the warehouse. Moreover, Tiong Nam put a charges for the company who rent their warehouse and it have some rates. The price is not fixed because it depends on how long the customer rent for.

In Tiong Nam warehouse, they have 5000 palettes in the rack and the ground. Then, if the new item coming in, the new item will go to the top rack. So the new manufacturing date will be on the top rack and slowly moved down to the next level day by day.

Inventory management

system features - The system has features like real-time inventory status, exception handling, electronic inbound or inbound confirmation, product conversion, RF barcode scanning, RFID readers, daily stock synchronisation, and exception handling. Since its deployment in 2002, it has an outstanding track record.

Delivery systems - The warehouse and delivery services at Tiong Nam are totally integrated. It has a large fleet of trucks with varied weights to guarantee that the items are delivered on time and to the satisfaction of the customer.

CCTV facilities - Its warehouse security is advancing rapidly, and it has CCTV technologies that let them view and monitor their warehouses from a distance.

STRATEGY AND PLANNING OF TIONG NAM COMPANY

  Tiong Nam is part of the Tanjung Pelepas Free Trade Zone (PTP). PTP is rapidly expanding right now. Tiong Nam's strategy is to generate more space in PTP by building more warehouses. The goal is to attract more customers from Singapore. Tiong Nam does not construct warehouses in Singapore because land in Singapore is extremely expensive and scarce. Renting a warehouse in Singapore will be more expensive than in Malaysia. They want to build more warehouses at PTP in order to save money on construction and land costs. 90% of the products in Tiong Nam warehouses at PTP are from Singapore customers. Tiong Nam also focuses on customer import and export services to ensure that high-volume products are available in their warehouses. Tiong Nam's strategies and planning have been implemented in the company.
